Packed lunches for fussy eaters

My 10 year old dd has always had school lunches but she has asked to change to packed lunches because the school changed catering company and she doesn't like the food. The problem is that she's a fussy and faddy eater and gets bored quickly.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for packed lunches to keep it varied.

I'm no help but there was a time when DS had cream cheese and marmite every day, plus an apple plus a yogurt tube, it was all he would eat. He was happy with this though, so perhaps no so bad.

what sort of things DOES she like? that way we can suggest things that might appeal.

For example if she eats eggs then you could try spanish omelette, different things like wraps or pitta bread can make a change from traditional sandwiches.

does she like things like cucumber or carrot sticks? cherry tomatoes? salad, rice, cold pasta? any of those can be made into a nice packed lunch.

my 2 are fairly simple eaters so take wraps with mayonnaise and chicken/cheese/ham sometimes lettuce in it etc. they then have some fruit and a cakey thing.

She likes pasta, so I was thinking pasta salad. But how do you prepare it without waste when it's a small portion?

My DS (10) is extremely fussy and has only had school dinners a handful of times. He often has hot pasta in one of those special food flasks. I cook it the night before and reheat it before putting it in the flask in the morning.

He's not keen on sandwiches, but does like pitta bread and hummus, or cheese scones (I freeze these).

well you could do a couple of days worth, could you or another family member have it as well? or have it for dinner and then her have the leftovers for lunch?

Pasta pesto is easy in small amounts. We freeze wraps of pesto from a jar and defrost to suit. Or try using leftovers?
