DD2 will not eat anything except sandwiches, so whilst I'm ok with that i am worrying, unneccessarily probably about what else I can get her to eat for the first few weeks.
I've tried everything, smoothies, grapes, apples, banana's, fresh fruit, dried fruit, fruit bars. I don't want the teachers thinking I'm a rubbish mum sending her with a chicken sandwhich and a jam one. I am seriously considering a little flask with soup or baked beans as the teachers will be helping her.
Hopefully she'll have school dinners in the winter but if not, can they still come home for dinners, does anyone know ?

Would steer clear of soup or beans - imagine the state of the uniform after a spill!

Give her food she likes, better to eat that than nothing.

Wait until she sees what delights everyone else and she'll want them.

Tell her her teacher says she has to eat a piece of fruit every day to make her learn properly - might work! What teachers says is LAW when you're 5.

Don't worry what the teachers think. I guarantee that compared to some of the sugary processed crap that many of the kids will have a chicken and a jam sandwich will be very healthy.

Seeing other children seeing different things might help make your child more adventurous. Certainly influenced my kids - from being quite wide-ranging in their tastes they got really narrow-minded....and DS#1 learned that wholemeal bread is 'gay'.....
