Hi all, just wanted to ask for some thoughts from everyone..I apologise in advance for typos and grammar mistakes, I am typing on my phone. My dd is in school nursery. She started in September and so far I have had a few niggles with it but generally she likes going so I try to forget about it. Today however when dh picked her up she had no shoes on. He obviously noticed straight away and asked the teachers where they were. He was met with blank faces. They said they weren't aware she didn't have them on. He said one teacher was quite concerned and started to look for them but the other teacher was disinterested. She often comes accross this way to be honest. Anyway they couldn't find her shoes and she came home without them. They said they should turn up. However I'm really concerned that they failed to notice she wasn't wearing shoes and wonder how ling she had been like that for. I asked dd and she said she lost them playing dressing up. Would you be concerned about this or am I over reacting? As i say there have been a few other things I've been unhappy with so am now wondering if its the right place for her

Thanks for everyone's replies. As i said they did turn up the next day. They were under a curtain apparently. On reflection, and trying not to over react and be rational...I'm thinking that maybe she took them off just before the end of the day, hence them not noticing. However I will see what happens in the future. As people have said her happiness is the main thing and she does enjoy it. She had 2 brilliant teachers and another one who doesn't seem to enjoy her job that much, but she's part time. I kind of don't want to make a fuss for nothing as in other ways the school have been really flexible. For example they let her do 2 and half days instead of 5 mornings cos they know i work which is unusal in school nurseries. Plus they let her do breakfast club and stuff too which does help me out!

I agree you should avoid over reacting. Sometimes things go missing and turn up - it happens in nurseries and homes, its just life. It was perfectly appropriate for only one teacher to sort the shoe situation out. There are other children and the other teacher needs to be in stand by for them.

The main thing is - is your child happy there? Is your child safe there? Is your child thriving there?
