Oaklands school in Loughton, Essex

Hi everybody
I would be grateful for the low down on this school as I'm considering sending our daughter there. And also what the parent scene is generally like in Loughton as we will most likely move there

Hi all

I am new to mumsnet as I am a new mum of a 3 month old.
We live in Canary Wharf and are looking to move to either Woodford Green, Buckhurst Hill or Loughton.. so also are looking at schools in this area. Want to do a good R&D on state and independent

We have seen Avon House and St Aubyns and were more impressed with St Aubyns - anyone can give more insight on this school through their personal experience.

What about Wells Primary State school - have also heard good things about this school.

We also like Loughton a lot but none of the state schools are outstanding, we have heard about Oakland Prep school - any thoughts?
How about the area is it too Chavy??

Reviving this old thread as we are moving to Woodford & looking at Avon House & Oaklands for boys aged 3 & 5. Anyone on here send your kids to these schools in the end? And anyone know what the morning commute is like from Woodford Green to Loughton as wondering if it really will be only 10 minutes (we've only managed to visit in the daytime/weekends so far). Thanks
