My DD loves to write stories. I want to help, encourage, celebrate and support her in making them even better. I've copied it out below, spelling and punctuation mistakes included. It was written this morning in one go, in a book format with her illustrations.(It's based on an advert she's seen for the latest Julia Donaldson book, though we haven't read it yet).
Am I right to ignore these and concentrate simply on what she writes? Obviously, I'm a proud mum, so I tend to think everything she does is wonderful. I'm not interested in having this levelled, but is it good for a year 2 child? At DD's request, I've asked the school for a storywriting club, but they don't think there is much demand. Her teacher does look at all her stories, and DD really enjoys this feedback. What else is out there for little kids who love writing?
