As I'm a TA, governor and PTA member at school I thought DS was doomed to small parts in plays etc to prevent the bitching accusations of favouritism but had a lovely surprise last week when DS was given one of the main roles. I have no idea if it was already decided but he went to his teacher a couple of weeks ago and said "I don't know if you've already decided the parts in the play but I would really like to be on the stage this year but I understand if I have to be a narrator again" He is so excited to have an acting role and has thrown himself into learning his lines, in less than a week he's almost word perfect and delivers them with great expression etc. He's not a particularly confident child in lots of situations but he does seem to love entertaining people - he stood in front of about 40 kids at a friend's birthday party and performed a little magic routine recently. I don't work afternoons when most of the rehearsals are so the first time I will see it is the dress rehearsal in almost two weeks. I think I will probably know the whole script inside out by then! Sorry to brag but I'm just so proud of how dedicated he is to doing a good job and showing his teacher she was right to choose him.
