Science magazine for 6 year old

Could anyone suggest something for a science mad 6 year old? Have seen all of the following online: Nat Geographic Kids/BBC Focus/How it Works/New Scientist/Flipside. She is interested in all areas of science but particularly biology and chemistry, and really not bothered about more technological things. Loads of stuff about iPhones, apps etc would be irrelevant so Flipside probably out. I've heard that NG is full of adverts and is mostly about animals. She is a good but lazy reader, don't mind if it's something we mostly read together. We have lots of science books but am looking for something different.

Hi this is new - an online scientific journal by kids for kids, from 8 - 18: kids.frontiersin.org/

I'm a big fan as are my dc, but although I do not work for them I do have a work freelance connection with one of its sister companies which is how it first came to my attention. felt only right to disclose the (weak) link

If you go to imaginesubs.co.uk/xmas1 you can buy 13 issues of How it Works magazine for £29.99 which is pretty good! And you don't need to agree upfront to automatically continue your subs when they run out.

If she's into earth science, I'd recommend joining Rockwatch, the nationwide club for young geologists. Membership includes a regular magazine, as well as lots of brilliant events all around the UK.

For parents, find us online for lots of popular palaeontology and earth science news and ideas to share with your child.

Hope that helps!
