Yr 6 sats stats

I wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction to get some nice straighforward stats for year six sats?

My Y6 ds has started to have a confidence problem with writing. I've found the following on mumsnet:

Reading- 8% level 3, 41% level 4, 42% level 5
Writing 20% level 3, 55% level 4, 20% level 5
Maths - 14% level 3 45% level 4, 35% level 5

....but this was for 2011 or 2012 I think, so wondered if there was a 2013 version of this and I wasn't even sure if the above was accurate. There is a chance that with some work he could scrape a level 5C in writing, so if the stats are still the same, I want to show him that he may not be a high flyer in his high flying class, but he's still doing pretty well.

Hi Blackcathair:

First off you should understand that the 2013 data will not be publically available until sometime in December (most likely mid- to late Dec).

SATs data are available here: www.education.gov.uk/schools/performance/

Now if you type in your postcode you'll get the Spring 2012 data against your school & nearby schools.

On the left side you'll find older SATs data (performance tables 1994 - 2011) - again typing in your postcode will give you SATs results for KS2 at your local & nearby schools.

Historic National Results & Provisional 2013 results are available here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-assessments-at-key-stage-2-in-england-2012-to-2013-provisional

If you select the 2nd document: "National tables: SFR34/2013" which is an excel spreadsheet and select Table 1 in the spreadsheet you can see the percentage of pupils scoring against NC Levels 3-6 (although be advised prior to 2012 Level 6 results were not recorded).

Thank you, that's a load of data! I might be being a bit dim, but I'm still having trouble extracting the 'writing' data from that lot though. I can see data that says what % get level four and level five for maths and reading and I can see what % get level 5 in reading, writing and maths (combined) - but writing doesn't seem to be reported on its own.

Writing tests weren't reported on their own and now that it is teacher assessment it would be impossible to give a percentage for anyway.

He will get a 5 in his writing if his teacher thinks he is a 5 and can evidence this.

As Wellthen explained Writing Data wasn't separately recorded until quite recently.

What data there is can be found down Column G on Table 2 here www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-assessments-at-key-stage-2-in-england-2012-to-2013-provisional - this data splits results by boys - girls - everybody.

The data is given L4 and above and then L5 and above - but without separating data clearly into percentages at L4/ L5/ L6.

I'm sure a teacher will be along shortly but from what I understand a L6 in English was very hard to achieve - i.e.
