Ok - 'fess up everyone - what are you planning/have bought and how much to spend on the end-of-year pressie for ds/dd's primary school teacher?

well itll be wine or chocs for dd's two teachers but from 'Her' herself, we are making friendship bracelets

spend about £10 on each. Got pressies from traidcraft plus wine last year. Ds2 is going into DS1s teacher's class as she's going from yr 3 to yr 1 so I'll get her something extra to sweeten her up

I love the fudge idea eidsvold Think I'll make some of this just for us!

lucky for us - end of school year is also christmas so you can do little christmassy things too.

I just like getting a handmade card personally - again our end of year is Christmas, so this kills two birds with one stone.

I send in cakes (that ds has helped make) to his preschool, and I get the plate back when I pick him up - so they have all been eaten up.

Ds also makes cards and I ask him why each teacher is special and write down what he says. Last year his 3 responses were "because you get morning tea", "because you make me smile big happy" and "because you sing me songs".

Seriously I would go for a compliment every time over a bought gift.

Hi eidsvold. Your recipes sound fantastic but what are choc melts?
Sorry to sound SO dumb!

eidsvold · 30/10/2006 23:49

cooking chocolate - they come in bud form or block form here - buds are called melts - melt easier and quicker than block choc iyswim.
