Fastest way to make 3 NC progress levels? School, HE, Flexi-schooling?

Hi,

Just wondered what the best way of ensuring ds reached a level 2 by the end of year 2. He is currently on level 1 plus p levels.

Many tia.

If flexi-schooling, what would be best, one day at home to 4 at school or the other way round or another combination?

Well the good news is that if I target the work well, he learns bloody fast.

But he's only 6 and after a day at school he needs to bounce on the trampoline and annoy his sister.

They are his current levels. They say they are the levels he is working at.

Did they say what interventions they are using to help his literacy and maths? Because you could always extend what they are doing.

I understand that he is getting extra support, but clearly it is ineffective.

And yet he's such a quick learner ime. He learns faster than reception age sister who is doing year 1 work at school.

It sounds like the school aren't realising your concern and at least providing you with the information you need.
Could you put in writing exactly what you would like to know and what your concerns are and then request a meeting with the classteacher and a member of the Senior Leadership Team with a view to making a joint plan with support both at school and home?

FWIW, Gove has abolished levels apart from reporting to parents at the end of Key Stages, AFAIKConfused

No. They just say work is differentiated for his ability.

I also know that in the state of California they plan the building of their prison spaces on the basis of the data received about the children's attainment levels at age 6/7.

So it kind of is important, though statistics aren't individual I know.

Thank you. I have emailed his Head of House and requested the targets for each subject, told her I am concerned by his levels and given her my phone number.

Thank you. That idea of a plan for both school and home is an excellent idea.
