Hi, is there anyone who can explain the difference between satisfactory and improvement required ofsted grade

What used to be called satisfactory ie 3 is now called requires improvement. Hth

They are the same thing. It is supposed to mean that a school getting a 3 will pull their socks up and not coast along thinking that it is OK to be satisfactory.

Yes, basically if a school doesn't meet the requirements for 'good' it is judged as 'requires improvement'. No such thing as 'satisfactory' any more.
