Handwriting pencils

Any recomendations? I saw a Griffix pencil which seemed to be fairly well shaped, is it any good or any other suggestions? It would initially be for dd1 (yr4), who is still not holding her pencil correctly, and forms some letters incorrectly. They seem to have given up on handwriting at school, so I guess it is up to me or send her to mrz for a crash course .

Faber Castell do a really nice (silver colour exterior) HB pencil in chunky triangular shape, good for little hands. If I recall correctly when I bought some for a friends dd I got them in smiths. Just loose in the trays at the bottom of the displays.

I use these with my class. They feel awkward to start, but with persistance, really work especially since I can't constantly sit next to them correcting the grip.

The triangular pencils are good, you can also get ones with built in grips which aresoft where they have to hold them. Smiths sell all sorts, make sure you buy a triangular pencil sharpener too. Other than that, stabilo do a chunky automatic pencil which some children seem to like.

Wilkinsons have nice chunky triangular shaped pencils - I find them much easier myself. They do a pack of 8 writing pencils and packs of 12 colouring pencils - less than a quid a pack. No rubber grips on the barrel though.

Thank you all, although I still can't make the link work blueberry she uses a wrapped thumb technique, I will maybe ask her teacher too if they have anything in class.

DS1 uses these.

these

There are various other ones which are similar and you can find colouring pencils in the same style too.

Stabilo EASYergo

My DD uses the 3.15mm version of this pencil as she is only 5. It has improved her grip very very quickly and is quite comfortable for little hands.
