I understand that they like us to record things we've done with our daughter (just started reception), but today they've put an example of her writing in, with a teachers comment underneath followed by "Parents' comment:" I'm not sure what to write?

I'm immensely proud of her and think she's doing well, but is that what they're looking for or more how we support it?

Just put something agreeing with what the teacher is written and maybe a reference to any writing she has done at home eg. DD is very keen to practise at home/ enjoys practising for short periods at home/ has shown/ is showing improvement with.....I never know what to write either and I am a teacher. Don't sweat it too much, as long as you put something. They are ticking boxes for Ofsted a lot of time.

Thank you, that makes sense. It's reassuring that you as a teacher have the same difficulties Smile

oh we don't have this - we don't see them at all until the end of the year.
