Parents of yr1 children: What did they do in reception?

My eldest didn't do YR and my youngest did it 10 years ago, so my feelings about YR curriculum may be out of date. Please update me!

Do they do:
reading
writing - how much! how early?
structured lessons - ie all sitting listening to one teacher teach
PE where all have to get changed
free play
free choice time - how long
outdoor time or optional outdoor time - how long

Thanks

Reception children do phonics/reading/writing/maths etc
They will have had short whole class carpet sessions and lots of free choice (should be a balance of teacher led and child initiated) many schools have outdoor access for most of the day as part of the choice. PE provision varies between everyone getting changed to taking off shoes and sweatshirts to play simple games/dance/gym in the hall.

Lots of play, thank goodness! And some phonics (most of the phonemes)' some maths and lots of knowledge and understanding of the world. All wrapped up in plenty of painting and making things.

lot of play, lots of developing confidence and social skills. they learn to sit and listen to stories, sit and listen to each other, stand up and talk in front of each other, PE for coordination and balance, phonics and early reading, writing, numbers up to at least 10 (many children up to 20) for counting, writing, adding, subtracting, sharing. craft, nature and the world around them, human body, learning to go to assembly and sit in a big group. Lots of general skills. the only thing I expect that has changed is that phonics is the focus for reading and writing skills which lots of schools didn't used to do so much.
