Catchment change without consultation?

Random question theres area in catchment boundry for 1st choice school.

A few siblings applying same year as as us lie in that area.

They finally get their own primary opening this sept initially just 60places but opens up for all years next year.

Waiting for new admissions book to be released.

is it possible they make that area out of catchment?

if they did would they honour siblings who lived that area and eldest child attends the school?

I ask as imoutside of cathement but within 2miles.

yet my 2nd child not classed as local sibling.

so any ids within map boundry have priority and theres a few from this new area all new builds.They not overly close to school tiny bit closer than me but its their 3rd nearest school but school 2 is diffrent lea as the school and the area is on la boundry.

Just trying to work out my chances.

If they have changed the catchment there should have been a consultation earlier this year. They may have had a consultation without you noticing.

thanks spoke to couple mums who live on new estate applying same time as me they bit worried but just seem to think they wont change t and be some sort of transition.

Now that area got its own school an academy 60spaces per year primary and has unusla join arrangement of equal priority between 2las as so close to border and something to do with funding lea woman said at moment for this coming year either la parent applies thought the la they live in but the new school is in la i live in but not one eldest at,

Yes its catchment defined by a map.
I am outside that map
they inside it.

I think we live equal dstance to school though,
the schools in la I live in.

most schools round here 2miles of school would have given me sibling.

its the fact has defined catchment and map boundry.

My lea operate local sibling policy. which has caught out many especially near the borders.

Selfishly if they did remove new area from map then that improve my chances.

Why im eager see new book is see think apr has changed around the chosen school and if does all hell break loose . I dont think they would add my area to map but tehy may extend outwards in my direction as we want to move but finding somewhere within map boundry probablamatic.

Googled last consultation was 2011 which added the new build area to map /apr/cathement and this was in place sept 2012.

nothing recent.

The new primary school in the new buld area opens sept 2013.

new book not out yet with maps but admissions critera still stands.

kids in care no 1

local siblings no2

Local siblings: Local siblings are defined as:
only those siblings living within the Area of Prime Responsibility;
or, where there is no Area of Prime Responsibility, local siblings will be deemed to be those living up to a maximum of 2 miles from school as measured in a direct line;
or, where the distance is over 2 miles but the school is still the nearest school.

if was consulted guess google would have picked it up.

and maybe will change next september 2014 to be put in to place 2015 when dd3 due to start right now its dd2.

I think demand for places are rising within la and they keep building more houses.

Was talk of school relocating and expanding in future years but not in my time.

The admission booklets for all LAs should become available from 1st September either in hard copy or on the LA website. That will give you a definitive set of admission criteria for the school for the September 2014 intake and I think you need to get hold of these first before anything else. Only then will you have a definitive idea of where you stand for each of these schools in terms of admission both now and in the future.
