Round here people are fixated with the right school.

thnking should maybe look out area.

does welcoming, inclusive sound like code words for desperate?

I really want d2 to get into dd1s school which seems highly unlikly due to lea local siblings policy despite us being with 2mles.

so option 1

home ed.

option 2 pick obscure school further away2-3miles away from home perhaps even different county.

I did say we look at few schools next term
deadline 15th jan.

child no 2 and confused still what is the right school!

Moved dd schools in start yera 2 as her old school was shite, she was unhappy and doing badly.

what thinsg should i look for when pickngs are slim.

other than sats/ofsted, glossy website?

I went on the feel of the school when I looked round. responses to questions, teacher interaction/staff with the pupils. a good indicator of a school is staff turnover. also ks2 results. I think I would apply to the one your eldest is in as to get them both to school at sane time in diff places could be a challenge. if don't get place could always go to appeal?

Try & get her in to dd1's school otherwise logistically you'll be tearing your hair out !

TheDoctrineOfPositivityYes · 24/08/2013 15:45

Do you have a realistic chance of getting into more than one school?

I'd definitely use one of your choices with DD1's school as presumably the sibling link has some weighting even if it's a low weighting?

I want her to go eldest school but dont fancy my chances,

More than prepared to home ed until place.

Yes will appeal if get a no which 99%sure i will based on recent years.

I dont like my local schools

I have no siblink link as eldest has apr area prime responsability.
a map which we live outside of but within 2miles.

eldest got in on mid year admission.

weout catchment so sibling is not classed as a local sibling.

reception have just 20places and iknowlots siblings applying for next sept.

I will look round few schools in next few months but my hearts not in going anywhere else.

wont move eldest now.

eldest will have 3years left in primary when dd2 starts, dd3 starts year after dd2 ideally wanted a primary,

Just wondering if should look at others no one else locally consider.

But if you pick a school a long way from you won't it be full with others more local to that school?
