Northaw or Cuffley - Good Primary Schools?

Hello,
I am looking for information on good primary schools for my DS in the Northaw/Cuffley area of Hertfordshire. I will be making his application for reception in November.

After looking at the Ofsted report's seems like both Ponsbourne St Mary's Church of England Primary and Northaw Church of England Primary would be good options. Has anyone had first hand experience of these schools or know of a friend or family member who has?

I would also be interested in feedback on cuffley school, woodside primary school (Waltham cross) and brookmans park primary.

Thanks for your help : )

Do you know what the furthest distance admitted for each of those schools was? As you may only really have a chance of getting into one or two so make sure you put the most likely one down on the list, even if it's your last preference.

Thanks so much for your reply. I actually don't know, do you know where I can obtain that information from?
All the schools are within a 3 mile radius of our home.
My first choice is 1.1 miles away but its a very small school so only limited places (the school secretary told me last year for only 12 available places there were about 64 applicants). Our second choice is 0.9 miles away. The reason that I was asking people for feedback on the schools is because I want to be a hundred percent sure before I put the applications in as I understand that if I miss our first choice and someone who lives only slightly further away than me has put my second choice as their first preference - they would aparantly then get the place over us. Therefore does that mean that I'm better to change my second choice and make it my first because we are closer and more likely to get a place. This is so stressful, god knows what I will be like in another 13 years when he's doing his GCSE's : )

Herts county council will probably have the information.

Preferences don't work like that, if you are high enough on the list (when sorted by entrance criteria) to qualify for a place at more than one school then you are allocated according to the higher preference but you aren't disadvantaged in the list for eg the second preference because it is your second preference.

That's excellent news, thank you so much. Takes the pressure off a bit.

I had been advised to the contrary by my sister which is what had caused me to second guess my choices and try and reassess things.

Really appreciate the information : )
