Some months ago the school put some leaflets about additional educational materials in DD school bag accompanied by the letter from the headteacher. I took this letter as an endorsement of the educational programme and filled in some lines to request more information. Haven't heard anything for months, but last week received a phone call requesting an appointment with a "consultant". That sounded OK.

So far so good, but when they declared that they wouldn't go ahead if my husband wouldn't be present (Shock) because "there is a financial commitment" and treated me like an uneducated idiot I was seriously put off. It felt as if they were selling an unsolicited loan under the cover of an educational programme. It feels to me now that it could be a fraudulent scheme making money on the financial side with very dubious educational value.

Does anyone has any experience with this?

No experience but having read the website link there's no way I would sign up to spend over £1000 on this (which seems to be minimum spend).

Exactly, that's what I thought. But how a headteacher gets to put adverts for this in dd's bags?

Anyone whose DC blossomed with this programme?

It's generally agreed to be crap, expensive crap at that. The school get money for putting the leaflets in your bag, and that is wy you have to respond to say you received it.

Be glad you didn't get the opportunity to sign up!

Obviously, they don't rely on the "quality" of their "product" if they request money for 3 years worth of stuff in advance before one could even test it. Otherwise they would just run a pay as you go type of service.
And the cost is more like £2000 (!)

Just think of how much private tutor time you could buy for that £2/3000.
I did look at them but got put off as it sounded like a hard sell while making the appointment.
I complained to the HT and we were supposed to have a meeting but it never happened.
