cotton school blouse for 5 yr old

I have searched the internet and can't find a pure (or mostly pure) cotton shirt for my daughter who is starting reception this September. The ones in M&S start at age 6/7 and are too large for her. Can anyone help?

I bought some in Sainsbury's years ago. Not polos, proper little blouses.

I have to confess I haven't checked the labels - will look when I go upstairs in a minute but I thought my daughter's ones were cotton. We have a mix of short, 3/4 and long sleeve blouses from tesco and sainsburys.

The 6-7s aren't actually that big! Also, Curlew is spot on. Unless DD has allergies etc, drip dry, non iron, stain away shirts tick the proud mummy box much more effectively.

It's a long time between September and the 'dress them up for the smart school photo day' that is usually late Oct/nov! (Worth keeping one back for that day if washing schedules allow:-) )

I must admit I would blench at paying that much per shirt (especially since my daughter stained a new school shirt the first time she wore it). I wonder if good results could be obtained by dying a white 100% cotton shirt, as they are easier to get hold of, and in different styles. Would the dye be an irritant once the shirt had been washed? (Am assuming OP wants 100% cotton for reasons of skin sensitivity...)

Yes, DS has eczema. I did think about dying the shirt but I'm worried about achieving a decent shade and also, the thread is always polyester so the stitching will look white anyway. There was one place I spotted 60% cotton, 40% polyester shirts, that might end up being the best I can do. Problem is the school jumper is the nastiest 100% acrylic you can imagine and my DS shudders from just touching it, so I was hoping to get 100% cotton shirt to cover all his skin underneath the jumper. It would be impossible to get the jumper in cotton as it's got the logo and only available at the school shop.

OP, just a thought about the school jumper. Have you checked out Tesco, as they have 100% cotton jumpers and offer an embroidery service - off chance your DS's might be listed? Perhaps contact the school re who does their embroidery to see if you could place a custom order, or see if you could get them added to this
