Do academies have to tell parents the same info as non-academy state schools?

I read here that if a parent asks to know their dc's phonics score for example, that a state school would have to give it. Is it the same for academies does anyone know?

DS's school keeps most info to itself and I'd like to know his phonics score and his end of year levels, not just the school's rating of above/on/ below track. Of course I will ask anyway but it's nice to be armed with the correct info before getting into a debate. They wouldn't give an indication of levels half way through the year.

To my knowledge there is no specific legislation regarding schools providing levels to parents in any schools, LEA or academy. However, you do have the right to see information pertaining to yourself and as an extension, your child unless it had to do with child protection.

I think it comes under either freedom of information or data protection. If they refuse to give you levels then put your request in writing.
