If dc has been given a "level 2" , with no sub- level given....

Would you expect that to be just within level 2, or a secure level 2?

Ds has had a 2 given for some subjects, but been given the sub-level for others - just would like to understand a bit more!

I think you need to ask the teachers. only they know why there has been no sublevel given.

Thanks, will ask on Monday, just wondered if there was a standard!

Is your child in Year 2 and you have sublevels for reading, writing and maths, but not the others? If so, it is because that is the way the data submission system works that generates these printouts of results. Teachers have sub-levels if you ask for them but the software only accepts numerical levels.

I think on the notes for DS sats, it says that maths, reading & writing have the a, b & c sub categories but the other subjects (science?) don't. I stand to be corrected though. Was it these 3 subject that had the sub cats?

Science and speaking and listening are given as levels without sub levels.

And level 3 at KS1 is given as a pure level as well.

Yes, year 2. Writing and maths have been given 2a, reading 3, science and speaking and listening 2. Was just thinking it would be good to know if he's only just into 2, though I realise it doesn't much matter as long as he is happy and making progress.

That's how it is reported Rabelrebel. Sub levels are reported for reading, writing and maths only.
