Hello Summernow why not come over to our lovely Mumsnet Wandsworth local site and chat? It's nice and sunny here and we won't bite Wink. I'm sure lots of local parents will have up to date news and opinions about the Roche School, too.

Janedowe, since you are going so public with your concerns, why not also tell us what exactly your complaint was?

I had two kids in the Roche nursery and could not be happier with their time there. I am still often nostalgic about the place and wish I had put my kids there (the school was too far for us). Lots of their friends moved on to the Roche School and they are super happy with the school.

It is a small family owned school where all children I know are loved, well cared for and very well educated. Indeed the only complaint I ever heard was their communication with parents was sometimes lacking or slow. It makes me sad though that parents resort to blackmail on mumsnet to ruin a wonderful school's reputation.

Based on what I have heard from teachers and Head teachers, I would not be surprised if some parents' complaints are indeed ridiculous, even if the school is not allowed to voice this openly.

I have two children at The Roche and I can say that it is hands down the kindest, most nurturing school I have come across and I only wished it went all the way through to secondary. There is a very high staff to child ratio there - far higher than any other school both north and south of the river that we looked at. This means that every child's needs are met - be they academically gifted or those that need extra support. Their leavers list is once again impressive this year. I went to 3 open mornings (hiding in the back row for fear of looking nuts third time round) before signing up as I wanted to get the school absolutely right. All the year 6 children who showed me around with great passion and enthusiasm were beautifully confident without being arrogant - and that is a fine line to tread. That's what did it for me in the end - I thought if my children turn out like these then I will be thrilled.
