Dd (10yrs) has become very emotional, lots of tears, strops etc
DS (8yrs) has become completely hyper. Really noisy and irritating, winding everyone up and thinking he's really funny.

Roll on end of term....

Same here, ds1 (7) is being a pain, answering back, hitting out at ds2, not going to sleep till late and then struggling to get up. Ds2 (6) is just saying he's tired, and no matter what time he goes to bed he can't sleep for a while... Ds3 (1) is just bonkers anyway!

Roll on summer holidays and no more early starts!

DS1 is 'too ill to go to school' as he forces a cough, argues, answers back, is exhausted, two weeks today! Grin

Badly, ASD and he changes schools this year.so far this week we've had tantrums, rude, tears and illness !

DaddyPigsMistress · 10/07/2013 07:57

Ds(10) seems really worn out by it all. When he isnt tired he is rude so roll on the holidays when he will cheer up or be locked in a cupboard for 6 weeks

Lots of crying, hyper behaviour, anxiety. Roll on end of term!

End of term + very hot weather = mega meltdown (think I might just join them!)

Dd in yr5 with ASD has been fine as it has pretty much been business as usual at her school so far. Sports day tomorrow is the first disruption to the usual timetable but dd has been prepared for that. Next week she is on a residential and so will avoid the winding down anyway and the last two days include the school fair which she loves and bring a toy to school on the last day which makes her happy too.

This is a long last half term. Far too long and would have been better if the easter term was longer and this one shorter. My DD1 is more than ready to finish and my secondary school kids (teacher) have completely given up and we've still got week and half to go.

ps - i'm not on mumsnet at work but off with ill dd2

Grrr. Moody, tired, exhausted. "I don't like being told what to do", "I never can say what I!!! want to do" are the two most mentioned sentences in our house.

In a way I can understand, I am glad when work is over and we have our holiday, counting days as well.

On top of school, it is DD's birthday on Friday and she has a huge theatre production at the weekend with 3 days of rehearsals and three performances. Today she won't be home before 8.30pm at the earliest. Bless her on Monday I won't get her out of bed.

DS3 6yo is absolutely exhausted, he's just going through the motions and keeping going as best he can. Thankfully apart from having a slightly shorter fuse he's not being difficult. I think us acknowledging him being tired and explaining to him that everyone is tired and to do his best etc and that there's not long left he's coping OK. He's so ready for some lazy holiday days now.

DS2 (15yo with Asperger's) isn't any different to normal - they're still on normal timetable and it's just business as usual for him.

Ds (5.5) is just shattered this week. Reception and fulltime school has been a very tough and exhausting transition for him. Add in a very fractured, odd-timetable sort of week for him this week with class trips, visit to new school campus ( they're all moving over in Sept), birthday party and the heat, I'm predicting full-on meltdown mode by this weekend.

Luckily his school breaks up mid next week to accommodate their move to the new school building.

The school year is just too long in the UK.
