NC Levels in Year One: Decoding please

In Reception last year, the end of year reports used stock turns of phrase, instead of levels/numbers, to assess kids. It's school policy not to release these levels/numbers. In the end, parents simply downloaded the EYLG charts from the internet and translated the phrases into numbers themselves.

Same kind of verbal report without numbers - this time NC levels - is given out in Year One. We have parents evening next Monday and I would like to translate the report into actual levels. Is there a chart which will make it clear from the phrasing of the report whether a child has achieved 1a/2b in reading/writing/maths etc

Why on earth won't they give you the levels?!

Try googling APP grid along with your Local Authority's name - some schools will use their LAs grids.
