How many children get above 2a at end of KS2?

I know that it doesn't matter, but I am just interested. I know that level 2 is the expected level, but what % of children do in fact get level 3 and above?

I have been googling and cannot find it any where.

Thanks

Crap. That should say KS1. I got mixed up with key stage and year.

According to my sons results. In 2012 nationally in reading 53% got 2a or higher in writing 35% 2a or higher maths 50% 2a or higher.

In contrast our school got reading 2a or higher 76%, writing 69%, maths 77% so there must be some schools performing very low.

It's all a pile of Bllocks anyway. My DD got 2b for everything. And that is so not accurate. For example she is not so fab at Maths, but her writing and reading are pretty bloody good, yet she got the same marks in both. I am not suggesting she should have got higher for one or lower for the other, this is not a stealth boast, but the fact is there are very distinct and clear differences between the abilities she demonstrates in those areas and as such her scores do not accurate reflect those differences.

Pavlov that's something you need to take up with school then because they should be scrupulously assessed all the time. They should justify why they think she's working at 2b if you think she's not.

Particularly as it's teacher assessment......

Sorry prince roger I see you wanted to know level 3's nationally. For 2012 they are s&l 22%, reading 27%, writing 14%, maths 22%, science 21%. Didn't read your op properly.

PavlovtheCat · 09/07/2013 14:51

caffeinated oh I wouldn't even know what she would be! I am not suggesting they have underscored her, or over-scored her and it may well be that I think she is great at reading and writing when she is in fact just average! I just know that her strengths from the discussions at school the work we have done at home to help her learning (not just formal schoolwork but every day stuff) are clearly in her reading and written work, and much less so in her maths skills.

It's nice to see she is well rounded and balanced, I just don't believe it to be correct!
