I heard primary schools in north kingston are good but thats all i can say and that info is from mumsnet why not look at ofsted reports sats results for schools in kingston and see what you like good luck

RandomMess · 24/06/2013 17:59

Big issue in Kingston is a severe lack of spaces in reception, several bulge classes have sprung up etc.

Schmedz · 24/06/2013 18:52

How do you judge a good school? If it is by SATS results alone, then you will be overlooking other schools that actually 'add value' to their intake. If it is by the demographic of the children who attend, then you will be ruling out a number which are either high FSMs (or not!).

If you are in any position at all to visit any of the schools to see what they are like for yourself, then do so. If you are choosing a home based on trying to get a particular school, you will need to practically live on the doorstep, so good luck!

What, you mean -for entry this September?? I think if I were you I would ring Kingston council and ask where there might be a spare place. At this stage you are very unlikrly to have a wide choice of of 'good' school places :(

Schmedz · 25/06/2013 19:06

Can I just say that school reputations can be very misleading. Some of the supposedly 'good' Kingston schools have less than happy children and staff, and one other which is supposed to be 'awful' is actually doing wonders for the DCs of a friend of mine, one of whom is well above average academically but supposedly in a low-achieving school!

thanks you for your advices..the reason I ask because I do not fully believe in Ofsted, I think this forum is the parents of children already study in the school that they show well in Kingston or parents talk to each other about certain schools they know that school is good and a lot of good comments.

You need to check with the council as to availability of places...there will be waiting lists for the " good " schools .
