Spanish-speaking meet ups for kids?

Hi everyone! I'm moving to London from the US (Seattle) next month with my 8 year old daughter. I don't speak Spanish (though I'm trying to learn) but she has been in a Spanish immersion school for the past 3 years in which half the day was taught in Spanish so she understands quite a bit and is getting better every day at speaking Spanish.

We are moving to Mottingham, near Eltham College. Has anyone heard of any groups that meet up or classes that are held for speaking/learning Spanish? Thanks!

Hi. I'm not Spanish but am bilingual and there another subject called Language and Bilingualism which would probably be very useful for you?

I don't know that area at all but there are very large Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American communities throughout the UK. You should easily be able to find private Spanish lessons for her if that is what you want but I would suggest seeing if there are any local community weekend 'Spanish schools'. Not sure what to call it but certainly where we live we have Chinese schools, Russian schools and Polish schools that operate for a couple of hours at the weekend and enable children from these communities and English children to get together and speak in the language (as they will be doing all education in English). It would be a less formal way for her to practice I expect and more fun than sitting in an individual spanish class. As for how you would find one I can only suggest google or contacting the local library. most libraries have a noticeboard in the entrance with local leaflets, information and adverts and that is where our local classes are always advertised.
