DD has asked me for a book about the law. Any ideas? She can read well with normal 8 year old comprehension skills.

Do they ever have outside people come in to talk to the students? You could ever so helpfully track down a local professional (lawyer/magistrate type person)? Grin

They've had the police in several times this year as they have just done their "permis piéton" ("pedestrian licence") which was taught by the police. And they got to go to the mairie and be given their permis (for those who had passed - humiliatingly not all did, and they found out on the day) by the adjoint au maire. But this is standard stuff.

I think half the parents in the school are lawyers. But not the sort that do things that interest DC, like divorce and crime. And there are definitely no judges, magistrates etc.

Are the rest not allowed to walk around yet, then? Grin

Not on their own, nope Grin. This was the first year that they were able to leave school on their own (if parents agree).
