...when will the report be online?

The school DD is starting in September had the induction meeting for new parents today and it turns out that they are mid inspection. Just wondered when the report would be out, as we won't get a copy of the letter they send to parents. Any ideas?

It's normally been about a month when my DC's schools have been inspected.

They are generally a lot quicker at the moment. It may take as little as two weeks, although I would allow 3 before you start to worry. After three weeks it may be worth contacting the school to ask expected publication date - you don't need to tell them who you are if you don't want to. If it takes a month or longer then it could mean that the school has been downgraded to a 3 (Requires Improvement) or 4 (inadequate), although that's not definite.

There are many reasons why it might take longer, this statement is just going to worry the OP.

OP you dont need to contact the school, simply look online in 3 weeks or so. If it isnt there, look again after another week.

Thanks - I'm certainly hoping they aren't going to be downgraded - they were in special measures 7 years ago and 'good with outstanding Foundation stage' in 2010... I kinda wish they'd have waited till September, they have been absolutely incredible so far with DD's special transition arrangements. Grin

If they have been incredible so far, why worry about their Ofsted grade? You probably can rate them better than some inspector parachuting in for a day with a political agenda.

Galena · 06/06/2013 21:28

Oh, I'm not worried, as such... I'm just nosy! Grin

Sorry, wellthen, but in current climate this generally is the case - in my capacity I have experienced 5 ofsteds so far this year. The pressure to publish is immense - no school/inspector is going to hold that back without good reason.

However, I do agree with your point in some respects which I think is pretty clear in my first post.
