Hi lulu2

Many here (myself included) have found on-line tutorials in math really useful and because your child can sign in when it is convenient to them/ you - it makes getting maths practice in around a busy family/ school/ activity life much more convenient.

Options include:

mathsfactor: www.themathsfactor.com/

maths whizz: www.whizz.com/en-us/

and

mathletics: www.mathletics.co.uk/

There probably are others out there as well.

I think all of these test your DC and start from where they're at. I also think you get free trial periods with them, to see if you like what they have to offer.

We've used mathsfactor ourselves (for two DDs) and to great success. But as I said other parents have really liked maths whizz & mathletics. Kind of depends of the style of learning your DC enjoys - so worth getting them involved in chosing. The only thing I will say is that initially you may get involved with typing in answers or watching lessons - but this is no bad thing. Eventually they get fast at it and once they're settled in you don't need to keep such a watchful eye - although generally being around to help with 'tricky' problems is always a good idea.

Thanks for that info. We have tried on-line and dd does mathletics at school.
