Pan London primary school allocations: what time do the results get e-mailed out today?

Does anyone know? The website says evening. I registered with my work e-mail and can't check it from home so am considering staying late at work but not if "evening" means anything before midnight.

Has anyone had an e-mail yet?

Sorry to hear January - will she be moving with other classmates when she goes from Y2 to Y3?

Northlondonma · 17/04/2013 17:35

Results are there on pan London admissions website. Amazingly got first choice too. Gosh that was nerve wracking!!

Januarymadness · 17/04/2013 17:37

yes she would but all the other schools are over subscribed it would be pot luck where she got and who she ends up with.

i just dont know what to do. appeal. waitlist her? but that is still push8ng her from pillar to post.

appeal is probably useless as she hasnt got a statement yet. Her first SALT appointment isnt until May. The nursery first called in the LA in September....

Goldchilled7up · 17/04/2013 17:45

We didn't get first choice Sad I don't know how to tell my son that he won't be joining his nursery friends from September. Does anyone know how waiting lists work?

Januarymadness · 17/04/2013 17:48

I am sorry. It sucks doesn't it. Mo advice. I am currently rocking in a corner. But I can hold your hand.

bumpandbeyond · 17/04/2013 17:57

Just got ours via email (London)

Lovethesea · 17/04/2013 18:08

and???

stinkyfluffycat · 17/04/2013 18:10

Sorry January and Goldchilled - maybe you can find out tomorrow where you are on the waiting list? Think there is usually movement so if you're 1st or 2nd you might well get in before Sept? Horrid waiting though.
We got our 1st choice, very happy...

Lovethesea · 17/04/2013 18:12

January - waiting lists sounds like a good idea, if she settles really well and a place comes up you don't have to accept it do you? You can be on more than one too so no harm putting her name down for a few if you like them more. And if you did move her then you are choosing a short term disruption for more consistancy when she is 8.

But again by 8 she might be far better with the social side and may move with a few friends too. Really hard situation.

notcitrus · 17/04/2013 18:22

Got my email 5 min ago, after checking website result.
3rd choice, further away than 1st and 2nd, but ok - but I've never even seen it, thinking there was no way we'd get in there if we didn't get 2nd, and just filled my form up for the sake of it - thank goodness!

Now have to decide whether to go on wait lists or not - do I need to phone the schools for that?

Lovethesea · 17/04/2013 18:29

notcitrus - a lot of people I know only put one choice down, even though some like me are on the edge of the village and they've build lots of new housing nearer in the past couple of years. I was very fortunate and got in but if not I didn't want the council randomly allocating me another school!

Lovethesea · 17/04/2013 18:29

built not build obviously.

Goldchilled7up · 17/04/2013 18:40

Thank you stinky, will the waiting lists be available so soon?

CockyFox · 17/04/2013 18:43

Sorry to those of you who haven't got in. We are still waiting here.

Guitargirl · 17/04/2013 18:46

I had a text just before 5 to say that I had been sent an email with the outcome of the application. Still no email but I have logged on to the site and we have first choice. We only put one choice down as live very close to the school and DD is already there. Still - nice to see it in black and white!

For those going on a waiting list - as far as I know the London ones move VERY fast. We were 32 on a waiting list for our first choice school when we applied 2 years ago for DD, after all the acceptances/rejections of school places came back in April we moved down to 36. By October half-term after the first term had started we had moved up to 12. By then we were very happy with our second choice school so opted not to remain on the waiting list. Friends of ours who were 12 on the waiting list for DD's school last year had been offered a place by September. You just need to have nerves of steel while you sit it out!

MangawhaiHeads · 17/04/2013 18:46

Waiting here too, Merton.

Guitargirl · 17/04/2013 18:50

You won't know where you are on a waiting list really until after the date for rejections/acceptances of places. There will be people who have been offered a place at the school you want who will opt to go private or move out of the area and they will be rejecting their offers now. You will automatically be placed on a waiting list for any school which you have applied for which is higher up your list of preferences than the one you were offered, i.e. if you were offered your 5th choice school then you will automatically go on the waiting list for choices 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Seabright · 17/04/2013 18:53

Surrey's results are online too. Got the school we wanted. Am relieved & amazed, I thought we'd be on the waiting list due to distance.

CockyFox · 17/04/2013 19:37

We got first choice, I actually cried

Goldchilled7up · 17/04/2013 19:49

Guitar thank you for clarifying how waiting lists works. I'll try to remain positive

Guitargirl · 17/04/2013 19:53

Disclaimer: the automatic waiting list thing applies in our borough but I can't say for definite that it is the same across London so best to check your offer letter carefully when it arrives in the post in case you need to specify whether you want to be on a waiting list.

girlsyearapart · 17/04/2013 20:03

We got first choice for dd2.
Last year I was having a major panic about dd1s place at the same school but thankfully she got in.
According to this years catchment area we wouldn't have got in if we didn't have a sibling.

Friends last year had the same school as first choice but didn't get it. She was 6th or 7th on the list & was offered a place in very late August so be patient those who didn't get what they wanted.

London borough places move very fast.!

ArabellaBeaumaris · 17/04/2013 20:08

janurary all infants I am aware of move all children from y2 to the juniors automatically - you don't reapply & you move with all your classmates. Are you sure that isn't the case with you?
