Schools in the Row Town, Addlestone area

We're thinking of moving to the Row Town area of Addlestone, between Ottershaw and Woodham (just outside the M25) but are worried about the local state schools. There's a decent local infant school but the primary and particularly secondary schools are a real concern. We have a toddler so it'll be 9 years or so before she goes to secondary school, so should we relax about it as schools can improve or move to a different area? All advice very gratefully received. Thanks.

you know to look on the dept of education website at the performance tables. Put in a row town postpone (eg kt15 1de) and it will list all the local schools along with truer sats and gsce results and ofsted ratings? www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/search.pl?postcode=kt15+1de&distance=1&phase=all&searchType=postcode

How long will you plan to live there? Row town is off the main commuter drag so you'll get more for your money than somewhere like Woking that's on the direct train line. Heathside in Weybridge is a good secondary but highly oversubscribed and so I suspect Rowtown would be out of cachment. Chertsey has an RC secondary (salesian) but if you're not Catholic v unlikely to be an option. If you will be moving again in 5-7 years go for it, but if you might stay then have a careful think as you're in for a commute to get the DCs to a secondary (or go private is another option eg St George's/William Perkins if the DCs are bright and you have the ££!)
