Best one yet has come this term from.the games teacher 'your ds has missed far too many lessons'

Thats really helpful and insightful - ds has been signed off games for the last couplw of weeks on the advice of our gp!!

Anybody else got any good ones?

The best one I ever had was how well my DS was doing at his swimming lessons and how well behaved almostsons had been during the journeys to the pool and back.

One slight mistake, he did not even attend that school until the class he joined had finished their term of lessons.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/03/2013 19:39

DS had a statement. It is full of 'ds is a lovely boy with an engaging smile'.

Literally pages and pages of that stuff.

Fine if smiling was all he needed to learn to read and write.........

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 29/03/2013 19:42

OP, did you take this up with the games teacher? I'd be annoyed!

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 29/03/2013 19:43

starlight what did you do about it?

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/03/2013 19:43

Took them to tribunal.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/03/2013 19:44

And lost Shock

Labro · 29/03/2013 19:47

Awaiting a response to my polite enquiry!

What you on about, Labro?

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 29/03/2013 19:50

At least you tried, starlight

BrigitBigKnickers · 29/03/2013 19:51

English-"Mini Bridget needs to take a more active part in group work and contribute to the learning of others"

Not so strange?

But...

She was given an accolade (they call them celebration flags at her school) on the same report in the same subject for...

"An outstanding contribution to group work and the learning of others" ! Confused

Last academic year, AlfalfaGirl started secondary and in her first end of term report she got 9 x "AlfalfaGirl is a pleasure teach." I think this is a euphemism for "is quiet". Which didn't last..
This year it's all variations on the theme of "must work harder".

Labro · 29/03/2013 19:58

Mychild - you asked me if I had spoken to the games teacher - yes, I'm waiting for a response to my polite enquiry (to games teacher as to why he thinks this is something to write on son's report!)
Thats what I meant

Took them to tribunal again at the annual review and won.

Cost us our house to do it twice but all the teachers see are pushy parents who bought provision. Freedom of information request stated a communication between them that stated they wondered how ds could be so lovely with such horrible parents Confused.

DS is lovely BECAUSE of his horrible parents. At least they didn't appear to hold it against him.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 29/03/2013 20:04

labro it wasn't clear what you were saying...it read like nobody had replied to your OP.

StarlightMcKenzie · 29/03/2013 20:05

My own school report said 'Starlight is somewhat eccentric'.

Labro · 29/03/2013 20:11

thats ok mychild, I pressed send to early the first time.
Lol Star, one of mine said 'labro tries and will get there eventually'

To be fair, from the games teacher's point of view, it if a factually correct statement and offers no opinion as to the validity of the absences in question [busmile]

Redbindy · 29/03/2013 20:14

You need to remember that you're dealing with primary school teachers. They're not the sharpest tools in the box. If you have an issue take it up with the board of governers.

mrz · 29/03/2013 20:17

however most primary school teachers can spell governors Redbindy Wink

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 29/03/2013 20:17

Blimey Red, that's really too harsh Shock

umm, I don't think a generalised statement being rude about primary school teachers was the point of my thread Red?
Shipwrecked, do agree but he then waffled about ds lack of enthusiasm etc as well ( when ds has been signed off!)

OP posts:
ShipwreckedAndComatose · 29/03/2013 20:24

Was that supposed to be about before being signed off, perhaps?

mrz · 29/03/2013 20:27

I think you need to infer that the teacher means he can't assess your child's ability due to him missing lessons
