Are Ofsted reports annual? This primary hasn't had one since 2009.

I thought Ofsted reports were annual?

The infant school I am interested in had reports in 2006, 2008 and 2009, but is not publishing any since then on it's school website.

Is this normal?

Yes, I think they get done every couple of years. Sometimes, if there are no areas of concern they get missed out.

Our school hasn't had one since 2009 and has been repeatedly asking Ofsted. Is bizarre, like if you ask they don't bother. Could be a good tactic for a school that is worried to use! I think there is now an option for schools to request an Ofsted visit - for a fee!

What was the verdict last time? OFSTED "inspect weaker schools more frequently and only inspect outstanding schools where concerns emerge"
You can always find the latest report on OFSTED's own website, so not publishing it on the school's own site doesn't stop you seeing it if there is a later one.
At the school I work at, the last inspection was January 2012, the one before that Jun 2009; the verdict was Good in both cases, but if the school you are interested in got an outstanding in 2009 it's quite possible it hasn't had another yet. Even if it was only Good, it's possible - we were told the next one wouldn't be for three years unless there were problems.

We had a full inspection in June 2009 and a few weeks ago a letter was sent out saying "In 2009 this was a good school with some outstanding features, evidence shows that this is still the case so the earlisest we will re-inspect the school is summer 2014"

exoticfruits · 11/03/2013 09:27

Very normal - as described by Fuzzymum.

It would be a complete waste of time and money to do otherwise, unless it was a failing school- and even they need time to implement changes.

The longest we have had between Ofsted inspections was almost seven years Hmm

and we've just received the same letter as Fuzzymum
