Horsham primary schools and dyslexia

Hi, I'm hoping to relocate to Horsham this year, with my hubby and 2 boys, my youngest (soon to be 10) is dyslexic, and I wondered if any Horsham mums could offer advice on primary school choice, based on personal experience with their own dyslexic child? I made enquiries and know that the following schools have places, so if anyone has 1st hand knowledge of how they have coped with a dyslexic child, that would be brilliant!
Arunside Primary
Greenway Academy
North Heath Primary
Northolmes Junior
St Robert Southwell Catholic Primary
Shelley Primary

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have no experience with dyslexia provision, but I do have experience with one of the schools mentioned, Northolmes.
If you can avoid it, don't send your child there. The quality of teaching is poor, the head is awful and the parents are fairly disengaged (with the exception of a small minority). It's not a good school.

Not sure on Dyslexic provision but I have had friends with children at North Heath and Greenway and they have been happy with the school.
Greenway encourages lots of sport and has quite a few after school clubs.
I presume Shelley will expand as there is a lot of housing going up in Broadbridge Heath.
Have you looked into secondary schools as if you lived close to Greenway your catchment school would be Tanbridge (mixed) where living near North Heath School would be a catchment school of Forest Boys school (some children still go to Tanbridge)
Hope that helps Smile

What Lulabellarama said about Northolmes. DS1 went there and I wasn't overly impressed with it. It wasn't hideous, it just didn't have a nice atmosphere and were very geared to results, even in non-SATS years. I didn't find the Head approachable either, in fact I rarely ever saw her. DS1 is 13 now and only went for year 3 (we moved) so it could all be different.

I went to Greenway, but that was a very long time ago. Still has the same head though! My niece and nephew went there and did well.

I've got friends with children at St Robert Southwell and Shelley and they speak very highly of the schools, but I don't know anything about dyslexic provision.
