primary schools for girls who live in n1/n5?

Moving back to the UK in a few years. Wondering about independent schools for our daughter. We already have South Hampstead High School and City of London School for girls on our list. Any others your might recommend? (North London Collegiate looks a bit far for a 7-year old to commute) Also we hope for an ethnically diverse population or as diverse as we can find. Thanks so much.

Mine are at a state school so not my area of expertise but friends in the area have had girls at Cavendish and seem to like it. Not sure how ethnically diverse it is but meant to be very nurturing.

Channing, but as far as I know there is no intake at 7+ so you will need an occasional vacancy to come up at the right time. Highgate is co-ed and has a 7+ intake. Not a lot of choices that don't involve a 30-50mins commute in London rush hour and/or exams/interviews about 8-10 months beforehand. Have a look at your state options as well, most schools will have a place in the upper years.

I realise this is a zombie thread but as you said you were moving back in a few years you might be interested to know that Channing has had two double intakes in a row - existing parents are not particularly happy about it - that may well impact on the availability of chance vacancies (i.e. they might just shrink the classes if people leave) and possibly on how many places they have for the senior school when the cohorts who started reception in 2012 and 2013 get there.

Also consider St Margaret's in Kidderpore Gardens, very nice school - smaller than the others - they have the ability to be flexible on admissions e.g. if a child leaves from one year they can offer a space in a different year. Usually have a few places at 7+.
