Best prep and pre preps in Chelsea?

Hi all.

We have sold our house in Hampstead and are moving to Chelsea. My 10 year old is in Year six so there isn't much point in her changing school for her last tearm and a half so we are keeping in the same school until September. My 7 year old will going into Year 3 in September and my 4 year old will be starting school so going into Reception. My current youngest is 3 so we are obviously looking for a good pre prep for her.

GEMS Hampshire is only around the corner but I can't seem to find an OFSTED report for them?

We ideally only want to travel about 5 miles but I believe there are plenty of preps and pre preps around the area.

Please give me info about application etc- do we have to visit etc.

Try Newton Prep - just over Battersea Bridge. Fantastic school if your lot are sparky!

Hill House?

You don't mention if they're boys or girls? In terms of exit results probably Hill House and Sussex House for boys (7+) and perhaps Eaton House belgravia (4-8 I believe), for girls Glendower Prep or Falkner house in south ken or Kensington Prep in Fulham.

Hill House doesn't select on entry but has great exit results- fantastic value adding. It's Co-Ed as well.

Agree with the Hill House fans (and I don't have a child at Hill House as I don't live in Chelsea). A non selective school that gets those results is really adding value and friends who have had DDs go through it have been delighted. It is very thorough and rigorous in their view. Newton Prep has been the subject of recent threads with varying responses from current parents. Knightsbridge does not seem to have become the academic powerhouse I'm sure it wants to become in the future - however, it seems from the website to be a really rounded nice school with a good ethos. There's also Garden House, Eaton Square, Cameron House. Lots of choice. South of the River, in addition to the Thomas's stable there is Eaton House the Manor.

You need to go and look at each school that you shortlist. It's like buying a house I think. You'll just know when it's right. You know your DCs best. Good Luck.
