If your school is open, do your dcs get playtime in snow, or is it wet play?

Just interested in the different policies of schools. I know there are health and safety issues but seems a shame if kids don't get out to play in snow.

Yes, outside play allowed, apparently there was lots do sledging and "snow skiing" (according to DS). He is in y1 and I love love love that the school encourages a bit of adventure.
I did sent a snow suit and snow boots for him today.

On friday it was wet play as the snow was coming down fast and we would have got soaked.

Today, those with boots were allowed on the field to build snowmen, others were on the playground.

When my DDs were at junior school, they were always allowed out, but only if they had boots, a coat, hat and gloves.

DS had games at school today. They went for a long run, rather than football, which it would usually have been this term, and then did curling in the hall. (The curling puck things run on ball bearings, I think.)

They also played outside at break. Lots of snowballing, apparently.

I always send in the kids with snow boots and change of clothes just in case. They went out at morning play today but not lunchtime. how frustrating for them!!!
