Hi,

I'm hoping someone out there from this area or nearby has some helpful advice they can share. I'm looking for a good primary school for my little boy (2yrs old), but my local state has failed its ofsted and its recent 6 month interim report is shocking reading. I'm sure it could turn around in the next 3 years, but I'd feel more comfortable with a back up. I'm out the catchment area for the only other decent state school nearby.

In terms of private options, there are countless in nearby belsize park or st johns wood, but at almost 5k a term, I'd struggle to manage and if we have another child, which we hope to, 2 sets of fees would be impossible.

I've heard lots about Maple walk School - it's not that close, but it fits the bill in terms of affordable fees and nice ethos. But, there are very few places and I'm at the very bottom of the waiting list having come to it too late.

So I'm wondering if there are any other options out there? I've come across the Lloyd Williamson school but a) it's not that cheap and b) the fact that I can't find a single positive review of it is slightly worrying. it looks a bit odd to be honest.

Does anyone live nearby and know of any options I've missed?

really appreciate your help.

Hi - did you ever hear back on your question about Lloyd Williamson please? I'm considering it and am very interested to hear views/thoughts from any parents who have sent their children there or are currently there. Any help much appreciated.

The local state primary is becoming an academy - the teachers and parents are v involved and working hard at turning it around. It will have improved a lot by the time your child is ready for school.

Most parents who go private either head for Hampstead, St Johns wood (abercorn school) or the nothing hill preps.
