DS has said he has had honey sandwiches today for his lunch today. We had opted for the sandwich choice as he didn't like the hot dinner choices. but I was thinking more ham or cheese - not honey. Would you be cross too?

My money's on honey roast ham too. Do let us know when you find out, it's quite a cute misunderstanding on both your parts!

He does know the difference between honey and ham! I have asked him and he says it looked a bit like marmalade. I don't think I am at all overreacting but you are entitled to your opinion.

I agree, it sounds like a rubbish filling for a sandwich lunch and would not be allowed at a state school as the sugar content of honey is too high!

School has confirmed he had honey sandwiches so DS was not mistaken

They didn't. I don't want to make a big thing of it with the school as they do offer lots of choice and they know that DS is not to have this. But I am shocked that they could think that this is an acceptable sandwich as the school seems very good. Quite strict re what children can take in as a snacks etc

I would be irritated too op. I expect you are paying at least 2 quid a day for it too.
