School bag of choice.

Ds1 is starting part-time nursery (attached to primary) in January so am attempting to get myself organised. Grin

His uniform list states he will need a school bag. I'm assuming at his age this is just for holding lunch, letters home, maybe a change of clothes etc so needn't be anything too big but the only thing he has at the moment is one of those little tote bags with his current creche's name on it, which is looking a bit sad and battered now.

Where might I find a nice, practical school bag for such a littlie? Would rather buy a nice(ish) one which can then be handed onto younger brother when outgrown if it isn't trashed when the time comes.

Does it specify plain or could it be a character one?

Ds has a Thomas tte one from clarks. I think it's sturdy and holds his change of clothes, spare plimsolls, nappies and wipes (he's 2.5). I can get a drink bottle in there too. His lunch bag doesn't fit but that has a handle and he quite likes carrying that himself anyway. His back pack is sized so that he can wear it if he wants.

Some schools have a book bag (sort of flat, nylon, with school logo on) - not usually for nursery though.

I'm not sure what bag they'd need for nursery - maybe for a change of clothes?

Yes it has to be plain.

Waterproof, wipaeable, backpack with handles yes?

The school does have a bookbag I've just spotted it on the order form.
