Does is make a big difference or form much of a contribution?

Is there any effect on the government funding they receive?

I think she's talking about the voluntarily assisted church schools. But what that's got to do with funding I don't know.

Yes, Voluntary Aided school. So, i believe that they have finacial support from the Diocese. But i was wondering to what extent, and how it effects the school as a whole?

Our VA school receives additional money from the diocese it tends to be spent on funding extra SEN support and teaching assistants.
The diocese also pays for upkeep to the school (As it owns the building) so e.g buying new heating, CCTV etc

A VA school receives the same funding for running expenses as any other school. In theory all running costs can be met from that funding. In practise the school is expected to fund some things itself such as building insurance and the school may also receive additional funding from the church.

The church owns the land and buildings and has to find 10% of the cost of any capital work, e.g. new buildings or refurbishing existing buildings. The church can, of course, fund a higher proportion of capital work if it wishes.
