we have moved back to uk from a posting abroad and I think my year 2 daughter is quite behind in Maths.
I am going in to see the teacher, but wondered where I could get the info that tells me what she should have covered in year1.

Try curriculum summary on Campaign for real Education: this is gold standard and your school may not quite work to this standard but written in plain English.

I'd highly recommend using the BBC bitesize KS1 SATs practice games, especially as you can select ability level: www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks1/

Woodland Junior School has a lovely website with a lot of activities - with a bit of trial and error you can target games/ worksheets to support areas where your DC needs more practice. Link here: www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/

Try looking for workbooks (especially those with lots of illustrations to help visualise maths concepts) at newsagents. Start with a Year 1 book and just do a bit each week - great in the car/ waiting for siblings at their lessons/ or take along for times when you have to wait (dentist/ doctor/ etc...).

If you are very concerned and not certain you can help or uncertain where to begin, you can consider on-line tutorials: Mathletics, Maths whizz and Mathsfactor have all been recommended here on Mumsnet by Mums. Just search name on google. Most of these allow one months free membership for you to try out their website.
