DD has homework - page of text, some words missing, list of words at the bottom, pick the word to fill the gap.
She's done what she can, but is stuck with three left (out of about 20) that won't fit at all, she agrees that most likely she's picked the wrong ones earlier but can't figure out which. This is apparantly an Insoluble Problem. I have so far suggested:
-
Take in the homework with the three missing words, explain to the teacher that she's done her best. Apparantly this is Not An Option because they aren't allowed to bring back work uncompleted.
-
Take in the homework and ask the (very, very lovely and non-scarey) TA for help. This Will Not Do because one can only ask for an explanation of how to do the work, and she knows that, she just can't get it to fit.
-
Fill in the three remaining words in the three remaining gaps at random, take in completed work. This didn't even merit an explanation of why it Would Not Do.
Please, tell me I'm not the only person suffering like this . . . . I try to hide, but at some point have to return to the kitchen, and can't even imagine the trauma if dd had - gasp - to go in with homework undone.
(Can't help because it's in Welsh . . . which I can understand spoken but not do written comprehension exercises!)
