What words of advice did give your dc on their first day in reception?

DD1 starts tomorrow. She is quite shy and I'm feeling the normal nerves of sending pfb off to school.

Just wondered what you said to your dc (shy or not) on their first day?

She had a lovely day. She came out really happy and literally skipped all the way home so I spent the whole day worrying for nothing!

I put kisses in her pocket this morning and she said she used them a couple of times when she wasn't feeling very brave and they helped her.

I also told her to tell other children her name and that helped her, she said she played with two little girls all day and sat with them at lunch.

I'm very relieved it went so well. Thank you all.
