I was given a good tip recently which is to put your child's name AND your mobile number on the label so if it's found, the finder can call you. You can usually get two lines on the iron on labels. It's useful in a big school where you don't necessarily know everyone, and has worked so far on DC's tracksuit bottoms which regularly go walkabout. I also get the woven labels with "Merry Christmas on" which we use on handmade cards.

Name It labels for iron ons and Stuck on You for bag tags etc.

Easy2Name for sticky labels. Laundry pen or silver Sharpie for everything else.... says the primary teacher & mum of two!

I would definitely NOT recommend 'You Name It' for labels. Ordered mine 3 weeks ago, have emailed four times and phoned them. Nothing received. Money swiftly taken from my account though.

We use Name Labels because they do Stikins which need no ironing they are just stuck on and they can be washed and tumble dried.

Easy2Name not only are they quick, but the ladies are enormously helpful as they are all mums themselves so know what works for what.

They also do lovely dog collars and leads too.

Also use Stikins as Dawntigga does. Very very quick and easy.

Namemark have quick and friendly service, their sew-on labels are fine and their property labels have amazing sticking ability. I have property labels on school lunchboxes that have been through the dishwasher many dozens of times and they never fade or peel. I haven't tried using them on clothes but they are absolutely the business for hard surfaces.
