Because it's coming round a lot quicker than I thought, and am starting to worry!

I don't know, but will join you here.

I'm getting waves of worry and relief Confused

When does yours start BM?

This time in 2 weeks, my DS, pfb, and probably only, will be off

He seems to have developed a real separation anxiety, great timing!

Its a bit old now, but I found this quite useful. We are all organised now, so I am more excited than scared Smile

DD1 starts on the 7th and we're mostly excited, although I think I'm really going to miss her more than I realise in the mornings. I am starting to plan my days a bit with DD2 who will only be 10m, so at least I'll have some kind of structure. Labelled the uniform today so all we need to do is wait... Wine

firawla · 21/08/2012 19:29

my pfb is starting on the 17th. i havent got anything ready yet!!! so seeing you lot saying you are all organised and uniform labelled etc makes me feel that maybe i should get on with it a bit more

and ds is going thru a shy phase at the moment so bit worried how he will be in school, he doesnt know anyone in his class cos he is moving from nursery class in a different school

darksideofthemooncup · 21/08/2012 19:29

My dd starts on the 4th, I have all her uniform and name tags ready (not sewn in yet but MIL has volunteered to do that HURRAY!) I have bought a pencil case and pencils just in case but will she need them? She is so ready to go and as she is an only she is desperately excited about all the potential new friends. Not so sure I am ready though......

mrz · 21/08/2012 19:47

Most schools provide pencils and prefer children not to bring their own.

Catandthecream · 21/08/2012 20:14

My DS1 starts on the 5th and I'm beginning to feel nervous and excited for him. Luckily he had been at the school nursery for two years so will know many kids there though he has not been put in a class with any of his friends which I don't understand.

All the best for the new starters!

I'm sure I'm going to look back at this and think what was I worrying about, but it's all I can think about right now

  1. The shorts don't fit, they are a ridiculous shape
  2. He needs ballet shoes!!!!!
3.He has been so clingy recently, he won't let go of me when I drop him off at nursery, where he has been going for 3 years
  1. Labels I've ordered haven't turned up
  2. Do I go back to work, or not?
  3. If I go back to work, will need a nanny
  4. Have another mum who hasn't really got drop/off pick up organised, so might have to help out there
  5. Teatime - He usually has tea at nursery, so now I will have to get into some sort of routine, and actually cook!!
  6. Worried the traffic will be bad, and the poor child will be late

I'm overthinking it, aren't I?!!

my dd starts on the 5th @ 1pm, she can't wait and is so excited i am about a year behind her.

Has had two brilliant taster sessions and not batted an eyelid about leaving me and we have both been doing so well. Then last night she tried on her full uniform and i fell to bits. They are going to need a canoe to get me out of there on her first day :)

lljkk · 23/08/2012 19:42

Sign me in!! I just want to natter with excitement. PLB starts 2 weeks today & really doesn't understand what it means, but he's ready & has friends there already. Meanwhile I need to get a job life, dunno which is scarier.

DS1 starts on the 17th. Hoping school will calm him down Grin

OTTMummA · 24/08/2012 09:40

DS starts on the 10th, We've also got DD 5weeks old, and am stressing out about p.e as he panics when he gets his massive pumpkin head stuck in his tops! Have been trying for months to teach him and help him, but nothing has worked, any tips? Also need to get his uniform! Argh I'm crap!

firawla · 24/08/2012 12:01

ott mine is like that with the tops too, i better start making him practise more i think

MimsyBorogroves · 24/08/2012 13:13

Re PE tops, can you get either button collar sports ones, or failing that go one size up without him looking like he's wearing a tent? That worked for my DS!

NobbyD · 24/08/2012 15:51

I'll join too! DS starts on the 10th. Massive settling in period where he just does 2 hours first week, 3 hours next. He'll only start doing full hours by half term! Not good for working mums.

I too am worried as his settling in day was traumatic. He cried, I cried. Awful. Headteacher dragged me out. Now I'm embarrassed! Apprently he cheered up as soon as I left, made a friend and got on with it. I still think he is so young (only just turned 4) and although he been going to nursery for 3 years I actually never took him or picked him up (nursery attached to DH's work) so this is going to be hard....

Being silly, I know! Blush

uselfullife · 03/09/2012 18:32

Yikes, it's tomorrow
I need him to go to bed so I can get organised
No way he is more nervous than me!
I just want it over with now

My twins start on the 11th, and I am far more nervous than they are! Have tried on their uniforms, and although the trousers fit, they seem to be a bit snug for pulling up and down. So now I am worried that they will struggle when it comes to going to the toilet. The next size up trousers seem huge, but do have an adjustable waist. Don't know which ones would be best to put them in.
They are also very fussy eaters, so am worried they won't eat anything at school. Thank goodness I only have a week left to worry about it all before they start! I'm sure they will be fine once they get there.
