Hello, we are looking to move to Pinner from Ealing. I have a dd in Y1 ,a dd in nursery and a toddler. We were looking at cannon lane (have nieces there) but have hear that westlodge and Pinner wood are good too.
Harrow council said that there are 30 children on the waiting list but no advice on how long we might have to wait once we move there ...

Trying to decide if to move now or try for nearer end of Y2 but don know how long it will take to get a place. Has anyone done something similar and could they give me an idea of length of wait?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Have you been to look at the schools as well? Cannon Lane and Westlodge are both very popular.

Pinner Wood is getting more popular. Personally think it's nicer as there is more green space. The houses up by there are much nicer than the ones by Cannon Lane!

Where in Pinner do you actually want to move to?

Grimsdyke is another popular school in that direction - Hatch End.

We haven't been to see the schools yet as just got the job but was vearing towards cannon lane as then girls would know someone, but westlodge and Pinner wood look good on websites....

House really depends on which school as would plan to move near to the school so as to have a chance in getting in....

But could take ages even with an address nearby...

Thank you feelingfull, think recommendations more helpful than just looking at league tables :)

All the schools in the area are very good and above average, so you can't go wrong with wherever you go :)

Totally agree with tinyt. The schools in Pinner and Harrow are pretty good.

However, not to scare you, just be warned... there are black spots. I know of a child near North Harrow/Pinner boarder who didn't get into any of her local primaries nearest were Pinner Park and Westloge. She got offered a place in Harlyn in Hillingdon which is a good 15 min drive.

Not sure whether it's an issue for you- none of those schools have nurseries attached. Although there are lots of good preschools and nurseries in the area or your younger children.

Good luck, it's a great area Smile
