Thank you so much for the recommendation. My DS3 is currently confidently reading orange level books and these are just the right level for him to read. Mr Tick the Teacher arrived today and he read it to me this evening and really enjoyed it. He's decided more books in the series would be good as rewards when he behaves well (we've had issues with him getting ready for school and bed and have had discussions about more appropriate behaviour) - I'm always happy to buy books and if he actively wants to earn them then even better :D

Mrs Vole the Vet is next on our list :D

And there are loads and loads of them!

They are brilliant - top quality fiction and great for reading books Smile We got the whole series for a present and has been enjoyed by both my kids. Sometimes you can pick up the set from the book people that come into schools/offices for a good price.

Ooh, I'll have to keep an eye out for them, the book people come into school sometimes and I'm in and out all the time as I volunteer in one of the classes there :D

I read these as a child...... They are brilliant. I might have to go and get some.

MilkRunningOutAgain · 18/07/2012 13:41

My DD is bringing them home from school and it's so much fun and good to have a change from Kipper et al

Floggingmolly · 18/07/2012 14:36

The BookPeople have these for £9.99 at the moment Smile

BrittaPerry · 18/07/2012 14:37

The book people have a website, it's not just at schools and offices :-)

simpson · 18/07/2012 17:39

The book people are out of stockSad

If anyone knows where I can get them cheaply let me know!!!

I have been outbid on 2 sets of them on eBay now, have been trying to get the full set for months. I think DD is probably ready to start reading them and know she would love them.

SugarBatty · 18/07/2012 17:45

Love them, dd used to almost wet herself at the bit in mrs plub the plumber where one of the little plugs did a wee on the captains lap!

Fuzzymum1 · 18/07/2012 19:44

DS3 will love it if someone gets wee'd on - he's like most five year old boys and fascinated by bodily functions, especially wee at the moment, LOL

LOVE this series. Sadly DD is too old to read them now but she (and I as a child and adult) really enjoyed them. Lovely, comforting illustrations too.

Pretty sure I picked all ours up at either boot sales/jumble/charity shops or ebay.
