gifts for nursery team on leaving nursery?

My dcs are leaving nursery where they have been since 15 months. The team are fab. There are about 3 managers, 1 key carer and 3 others that I would like to get a gift for. I don't want to do chocs/wine - they politely always ask us not to get those at xmas as they are on various diets etc. There are websites with 'teacher' gifts but they don't see themselves as teachers/never refer to themselves as teachers iyswim, they see themselves as nursery professionals.

any good websites/suggestions? As there are quite a few of them I don't want to end up spending a fortune

Depends how much you want to spend but I would suggest gift vouchers so they can buy something they will use rather than get a gift that is appreciated but not something they would use.

yes, but a £10 voucher doesn't go far does it and that would still be £70. I'd like to get them something personal? any thoughts?

It may sound tight but we didn't have a lot of money at the time. i got two big boxes of M & S biscuits and wrote long passage in a thank you card about how fantastic staff were etc. One of the ladies rang me up to thank me specially and mentioned how the words in the card meant alot. Sincerity goes a long way x

When my daughter finished nursery last week, we gave a gift of a neals yard hand wash and hand cream set, as I thought they could pop them in the staff loos. The bottles were a decent size so should be useful to them for a while...

When my eldest left preschool, I asked them what they would like as a gift. They suggested some outdoor chalks - so that's what I gave them Smile.

Plus I give them chocs and biscuits at Christmas for the staff. I didn't feel I should get them individual presents as such, but more something for the nursery.

hmmmmm

I really want to give them individual gifts rather than something for the staffroom or nursery, my dcs have been there for 3 years, 4 days a week for 48 weeks of the year and have great relationshipos with the staff. I want to give something that sums that up iyswim. its a private nursery and they make enough of the fees that I want to give something to the staff not the nursery itself.

any other ideas>

I think the handcream is a great idea, and will pinch that for dd's teacher. I always buy chocolates or biscuits so that they can share. A beautiful plant might be nice as well - it's a good thing to 'share'.

The other thing might be to ask the nursery manager where they like to drink/go for staff meals, and get a voucher for there or put £25 behind a bar so they can have a drink on you.

I bought vouchers for the 2 staff who had most contact with DD and wrote a card thanking all the staff.
I'd suggest maybe small gifts of nice toiletries if you want individual presents that are not food or wine, or simply a few notes in a card and invite them to have a drink on you if individual vouchers would be too expensive. They can decide for themselves then how to spend/split it.
